November 17, 2008 - Popped the cork & let air out for about 3 hrs. Big red fruit smells with smoked meat and pepper. Big full mouth feel and very bright flavors which make it food friendly. went well with baby back ribs on the smoker. This is showing very well at 7 years of age. With more air a very strong red fruit aromatic -essence of raspberry syrup becomes dominant and the wine is even smoother and softer, quite nice

September 9, 2007 - OC Wine Dinner (Antonellos - Orange County, CA): It was really interesting to try a Novy with a little bit of age on it. However, even though it is well-made wine, the flavor profile really did not suit my tastes. Intense aromas of grilled meat and black pepper. On the palate, very dense and focused notes of blackberry, charcoal, and cracked black pepper. If black pepper is your thing, then this is definitely your wine. 85-86 points.

September 8, 2007 - OC Wine Dinner--"Pair This" (Antonello In Costa Mesa): Poured from magnum. My last Novy mag and aside from a single 750 of 01 Page Nord I have left, my oldest Novy. Aside from my own bias that I feel for the syrahs Adam makes from the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, this wine delivered for me. Still showing a generous texture, white pepper, beef jerky, soy and meat. Full of life, vibrant and special. Killer.

September 19, 2006 - Double-decanted two hours prior to serving. The wine is dark, like the flesh of ripe black cherries, becoming red at the rim. Nose is initially dominated by black fruits -- blackberry and black raspberry -- with hints of dark chocolate. On the palate there is more of the same, wonderfully balanced with chewy tannins and enough acidity to carry the fruit. This still tastes surprisingly young. With time in the glass the fruit profile becomes more red and acidity becomes more prominent, but the wine continued to drink well over two nights with few other changes. Drinking great now but i had the feeling this will continue to improve for another year or two.
