  July 29, 2022 - Delicious wine, beautiful dark berry fruit melds with a touch of cigar box. Solid tannic structure, good acidity, long finish.

  April 17, 2016 - Tannic monster, tasting of plum and bitter stems. Let's hope it improves with time; not even approachable for another 4-5 years.

  March 29, 2016 - Going 90 on this although it doesn't drink like a 90 currently. However, as I contemplated the huge cherry cola flavor and sandy tannins it struck me, as few wines do, that this will be magnificent in seven years. Not certain why seven, but that's my gut instinct. At that point I think it will be at least a 95, maybe higher. I'm going to buy a couple more and lay them down.

  December 4, 2015 - The 2009 Fontezoppa Carapetto Marche still tastes quite young. The wine is tightly wound with intense tannins that overshadow the wines black fruit flavors, yet when I look out 3-4 years on the horizon I see a beautiful wine emerging. Store this one away into the furthest corner of your cellar.
