April 28, 2024 - {cork, 13.5%} Perfect level, no leakage, crumbly cork, decanted off medium sediment just before serving. Classic aged Penfolds nose, not too oaky though. Lots of leather, gentle tar and roses. Medium weight. Little tannin left now. Beautifully balanced and tasty but let down by an oddly short and dull finish. Passed peak in my view, but still quite drinkable for a while.

    February 11, 2023 - Decanted 20 minutes. Fine sediment.
Very slight bricking only. Red and black fruits are still present. Medium weighted, resolved palate with decent length. Integrated tannins. Good showing.

October 22, 2017 - Ripe Shiraz fruit on the nose with the Cabernet tones still shining through. Colour still looks ruby. No hint tawny. There was only light sediment in the bottle. Opened beautify in 5 minutes in decanter and drank over 2 hours with no sign of fading. Still lots of complexity and length. A great wine for its age. Bottle kept well owned since release. Just goes to show you don't need oak to keep a great wine together.

August 16, 2015 - Ullage to base of neck. Cork crumbled slightly, but seemed to be holding a good seal. Decanted 1 hour. Plenty of fine sediment. Plums and dark berries, earthy, light oak nose. Flavours follow the aromas, with a mid weighted palate. The structure is good. The tannins are rounded and almost fully resolved. Decent finish. Overall, a good wine for its age.
