March 1, 2020 - Cellaraid Discovery Box; 5/19/2017-5/26/2021 (Delivered to Home): Deep garnet, with significant fading and browning at edges. Aromas of ripe cassis and blackberry, mint, paprika. Full bodied and intensely flavoured, with ripe cassis, raisins, and savoury meat stew upfront, and then takes up a mint chocolate, vanilla and peat-like feel, and some pepper and paprika at the back. The developed fruit flavours recede pretty fast, leaving most of the mint chocolate and peat behind, that persists pretty well. Great wine!

March 23, 2019 - My last of three bottles and it was really on point this weekend. Showing the glories of age without being over the hill, it was terrific with grilled burgers on Saturday and even better with roast chicken on Sunday. Based on this sample, I wouldn't be in a rush to drink if I had any more, but I also probably wouldn't wait more than another year or two to open my next one and re-assess. Great value in a more robust style than some Riojas without at all going over the line into any overly modern gloppy fruit bomb style.

July 8, 2018 - One bottle opened and has gone over: dry and flat. Second botle was ok but I wont leave the last bottle long

May 3, 2017 - secondary and tertiary notes dominate but the fresh fruit is still young and so are the tannins. pencil - bdx notes as well as some well integrated oak. leather and tobacco leaf on the long finish. ridiculous qpr

February 12, 2017 - Decanted for 2 hours. Showing some bottle age. Farmyard with violets on the nose. Soft tannins, fruit mellowing. Drinking well. Don't leave too much longer.
