September 12, 2021 - Beautifully mature, the black fruit was rather elegant, with a slightly leathery quality around it like old library books. Definitely some minty elements and pipe tobacco, with perhaps just a touch of woodsy oak. Unmistakably new world, but not a bruiser and standing up very nicely, even if the tannins were perhaps a bit on the soft side.

December 18, 2007 - This wine really came through great. 12 years later and the cork came out perfectly, several good swirls to let it breath (after all its been in the bottle for 12 years with no air!) and a good sniff gave off a little coffee, a little plum - 1st taste gave a some pepper!. The longer it sat - the better it got! If the rest of my 95's taste this good, It's going to be a great year! I've got a 95 Chateau St Jean Cinq Cepages waiting for News Year Eve! - I can't wait to try it!
