Community Tasting Notes 7

March 3, 2015 - Light, very clean, and drinkable; good for parties; mineral but not overly dry

July 28, 2014 - My fourth out of six, and the first to be 'correct'. Medium-bodied, stony, peach, melon and starfruit. Clean, with good persistence. Just past peak, but still in the zone, this should drink well for another 12-18 months. 12,0% abv.

    PnP, served non-blind.

    July 18, 2014 - 2,4,6-Tribromoanisole (TBA)

Second bottle in a row. Kind of the opposite of TCA in that if I let the glass sit, there is no TBA observable, but as soon as I swirl it in the glass, bingo. Whereas TCA, in my experience, only gets more and more obvious as it sits in the glass, perhaps less noticeable upon swirling it. Either way, it was good enough for friends to drink (their choice). Too bad that quality has gone to this level as I've been a fan of this producer for many years. Straw toward gold, medium-bodied, good persistence, with a good balance of minerals and fruit, but ultimately off. The fruit wasn't nearly (or at all) as flat as it would have been with TCA. 12,0% abv

    PnP, served non-blind.

June 11, 2014 - Pale toward straw. Pears, stones, citrus spray, almond skin. Light toward medium-bodied, with fresh acidity. Simple, but also more than just a quaffing wine. Equally as comfortable being a food wine as it is a summer sipper/aperitif wine. 12,0% abv, recommended, drink thru 2015
