January 2, 2022 - Light golden yellow; butter and summer flowers in the nose; liquid gold from the very first attack, Kistler at its best (I find 10 years to be a good age for these wines with lots of developed complexity and not overdue), pleasant throughout, enveloping glycerin around a core of honey with the right amount of acidity to give it nerve; if anything I believe I find a bit of a metalic aftertaste (?) and the aftertaste is a bit abrupt ending on a slightly flat note from a texture point of view, while the taste itself keep lingering on the back of your tongue for minutes; could have been all the way up there, but for the metalic (?) taste and somehow flat’ish ending; nevertheless an outstanding wine hard to beat

August 9, 2021 - Stick a fork in this one. It’s done. Heavily caramelized, dark honeyed color and taste profile. I held onto this one too long.

June 23, 2021 - Drinking beautifully, likely in its prime now though good to go longer. Balanced, all components (acidity, citrus & stone fruit, brioche, mineral) well integrate, nice long satisfying finish.

October 11, 2020 - Long lunch at Esmay Restaurant, Noosa River. I liked this 9 year old Kistler that showed a New World set of flavours framed with a classical structure of fine acid and mineral characters that followed a moderately intense set of white stone fruit, pear and lemon characters touched with honeysuckle and hazelnuts. I'm yet to have a disappointing Kistler which always walks the more classical side of the road.
