Community Tasting Notes 23

  • Madera16 Likes this wine:

April 25, 2020 - Drank alongside the ‘12. This one was much more vegetal and lacked the fruity charm of the ‘12. But I preferred the tannin — coarser and fleshier. Still delicious and fresh.

March 8, 2019 - Again a very good showing: red fruit, pepper, pure, in a way sophisticated, very good.

February 22, 2019 - There were some pretty leafy and sous bois notes going on with the dried fruit, but it was a bit shrill on the palate for what was needed. Steph finished the bottle the next day and pronounced it lovely. Drink up, I would say.

January 1, 2019 - Sadly, this was my last bottle of this Bourgogne Rouge It was a smooth, balanced wine with red fruit that went very well with a tasty homemade soup.

November 25, 2018 - Needs a good airing in the glass ( at least an hour), or maybe a decant to reveal the subtle , at times ethereal , aromas -sweet Maraschino cherries, cooked strawberries,a mushroomy earthiness, crystallised rose petals, a vanilla scent of winter camellias. The palate is marked by high acidity , and medium tannins, with flavours of cooked berries. The finish is short. A good food wine with room for improvement over the next 2-3 years.
