January 5, 2018 - Nose: Black Cherry, Dried Blackberry, Bell Pepper, Leather, and a bit of Violet. Palate: Great dark fruited entry with floral notes and the mid-palate delivers a cab franc driven earthy greenness. Retains a great black cherry sweetness and a touch of ripe plum with rustic leathery notes. Finish: Moderate, but quite full with a touch of spice to compliment the earthy herbal notes.
This bottle was pristine. Almost no soak on the cork whatsoever, and a neck fill. The wine took a good hour to unwind but was a tasty St. Emilion at peak.
December 22, 2013 - Pop n decante becaus of sediment.. No heat no alcohol n smooth.. But I think the fruite is faded.. Just a nice smooth with to try..
October 19, 2013 - Pop n pour.. Not bad but didn't get that much fruit.. But not dry or heat.. Easy drinking
November 5, 2010 - 1982 Bordeaux tasting; 11/5/2010-11/6/2010 (Bremen, Germany): Sweet strawberries, chocolate, slightly lactic. Still very nice.
March 5, 2009 - My #3 WOTN, but not a table favorite I think. Definitely old world with cedar, graphite, blackberry, a hint of brett and a hint of green pepper on the nose. All secondary fruit on the palate, soft flavors of licorice and blackberry. Soft vegetal tannins on the finish. Not a blockbuster, but in a place I like.
November 9, 2008 - Yowsa!! Big fun here. No age, no bricking. Blackberry port spicy nose. Full and very deep on the palate, with caramel dates and dried fruit in the background and currants up front. Long, mouth-filling finish. At a wonderful stage -- late secondary and really "on".
January 13, 2001 - Christie's Pre-Sale Tasting (Amsterdam): Good wine, lively and pleasant, but there is a slight edge to it.
