May 27, 2023 - Last noted 7/16; surprised to find one still hiding in the cellar. Opened after a slightly disappointing '15 K Vintners Charlotte; this is much more in my wheelhouse.

Color/App: still dark/nearly opaque inky core -> dense ruby rim; medium + viscosity. Very nice nose of blackberries and black cherries, tar, charcoal, bacon fat and leather, lead pencil and licorice. Black fruit palate with tobacco, a little smoke, olives and meat. A lot to like here, though the midpalate is slightly thinner than I'd like (blame the vintage).
There is still a bit of tannin on the long, dark finish that suggests this will last a few more years but why wait? 92.5

March 11, 2023 - Deep ruby. Pronounced cigar box nose. On the palate meat and bacon. Phenomenal and plenty of time left.

October 26, 2022 - Tanin is holding in and very well balanced. Actually reminds me of a soutern rhone Syrah. Balanced with blueberry fruit and fimished nicely without being over powering.

July 17, 2021 - Shared with friends at the townhouse they moved to during Covid for our first dinner together since New Year’s Eve 2019. Served with grilled chicken kebabs, drumsticks, and roasted vegetables. Very nice!

    February 12, 2021 - Benefitted from a 30 min decant.

Muted nose of blackberries, sweet red cherries and dirt.

Nicely layered flavors of blackberry, black currant, red cherry, charcoal, some earth and some green herbal notes.

Smooth tannins and texture; easy drinking now. It will go fast.

Could easily last several years but drinking great now with a short decant. Why wait?
