Community Tasting Notes 12

July 18, 2020 - Just enough VA to hide what may have been a very nice wine underneath. Pale and slightly cloudy and very low in alcohol, I think this would have been tasty rather than profound but ended up merely palatable with food.

June 27, 2016 - Pinot-ish nose, but wilder with more grass notes. Very, very mineral and refreshing, even served a touch warm for my tastes. Light to medium body, but not light of flavors and good length. Very quaffable, i.e. split this bottle in 15-20 minutes.

June 5, 2016 - Jura with Richard Jennings (South Bay): Medium minus garnet to an orange rim.
Reductive burnt rubber nose - super reductive, verging on burnt egg white.
    Medium body, medium plus alcohol.
High acid! and a bit of malic tartness too.
Medium tannins - like tissue paper. slight bitterness and cherry pit on the finish (signature of oxidative winemaking perhaps).
Too reductive at this point to rate.

February 26, 2016 - Quite reduced, with a sulfurous overlay that remained despite a night open in the fridge. Spritzy, with the cork ejecting with a pop, even on second day. The purity of fruit was delightful with raspberries, bright cherries and a piney note, but the overall experience was marred by the reduction, especially.

July 10, 2015 - Very light ruby coloured with some orange rims. Strong animal smells at the first nose. After two hours decanting, smoky, earthy smells besides of animal tones. Impressive acidity on the palate and salty long finish. This is a complex and typical pinot noir wine which also reflects the terroir's characteristics.
