October 15, 2010 - Velvety texture, tons of dark cherry with green pepper notes on the finish. Strangely entertaining.

February 20, 2010 - I found this wine very entertaining. At first sniff, I couldn't help but imagine myself at the bar at my favorite sushi place - a mix of fresh fish, soy, unfiltered sake and the funk of aging refrigeration. Unmistakable, savory umami palate and a velvety spice that takes it clear through the finish like white bean soup or red pepper hummus. 91, +2 as a conversation piece.

February 17, 2010 - Wines of Washington State (Fort Collins): This was *weird*. Very polarizing - I can't decide if I like it or hate it. Bizarre nose of tamari, rubber, seaweed, sushi, iodine, and an interesting green streak like the Cab was underripe. On the palate pepper, spice, broth, umami richness. Not a lot of fruit but not flawed. Medium-light body, some structure but not the sturdy spine I expected. Might need more than 30 minutes out of the bottle to come together...78-93 points.

November 7, 2009 - 09 cayuse dinner quick notes - just had a sip but this was aging very well. Similar to my previous tasting back in 07 w/meaty and beefy qualities and a cool tomatoe soup character!
