Community Tasting Notes 9

February 15, 2008 - A great everyday-simple wine with allspice, cherry & blackberry throughout the palate. Vanilla oak present in moderate quantities. Starting to hit it's decline, as fuit flavors are muted in comparison to last 2 bottles.

December 9, 2007 - Quite enjoyable at an everyday price, but I mostly bought it because we have a three-legged Border Collie - so this makes a great gift for friends and family! Who says that discerning tasters never buy based on the label?

November 22, 2007 - A good everyday wine and one that would be respectable to bring to a party for the less discerning pallets. I noticed lots of fruit, an OK nose but not a real memorable finish. It was OK, good value for the dollar.

November 18, 2007 - pretty tasty, just a bit rough.

November 6, 2007 - The Wine Spectator review for the 2002 is pretty close - "Open, generous style has a layer of floral flavors around the generous plum and berry fruit, all mingling nicely with toasty notes on the round finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc." This 2004 is an extremely good value, comparing favorably to a lot of much more expensive wines. It is great at the front of the palate and mid-palate, maybe a bit short at the back. But, overall, a terrific wine for $17 or so per bottle. Dunham, as usual, has another winner here. Unlike other tasting notes, noticed no vegetal character and it didn't take much time at all to open up.
