  March 1, 2013 - Rheingau Gourmet Festival "Versteigerungsspitzen & Schatzkammerweine", Kloster Eberbach, early Mar 2013: dark golden color; smoke, spices and herbs, noble wood. 93 points.
  
  Actually my tasting note says: Eiswein Beerenauslese. Two other tasters, who attended the same event, have written their notes here so I included mine for better comparison.

  March 1, 2013 - Tasting and dinner with old wines from Kloster Eberbach (Kloster Eberbach, Rheingau): Dark amber colour. Nose with noticeable spice notes, caramel, some raspberries and herbs, some wood oil, toasted notes with some some used coffee grounds. The palate is spicy with caramel, dried apricot and red berries, zest, high acidity, and with a spicy and fresh aftertaste. 92 p
  From half bottle.
  The nose was noticeably different from the three previous Riesling wines in this flight of four 1973 Eiswein. Quite good for a sweet Spätburgunder, not the least for its age and for having spent its waiting time in half bottles!

  March 1, 2013 - Dinner by Sebastian Lühr * with "Versteigerungsspitzen & Schatzkammerweine" (Rheingau Gourmet & Wein Festival, Kloster Eberbach): Lovely light orangey red colour; honeyed, quickly develops notes of lovage; on the palate lovely bright red fruit, sweet and elegant, seamless, nice concentration for an Auslese.
