February 9, 2024 - Left over from night before beautiful red fruits of strawberry, raspberry, broad on the palate with high sandy tannins with high acid. Definitely benefited with the air and drinking beautifully.

August 7, 2021 - A treat to drink Cathiard Romanee Saint Vivant, especially in blind. Silky smooth and complex with a serious array of dark berries, distinctly Grand Cru with lots of posh oak spices. Detectable tannin profile that is more typical of a cooler vintage. There are plenty of 2011 that are early drinking, but this feels like it could do with a few more years of sleep.

From 0.17ha plot, vines planted in 1919. 2011 was the first vintage Sébastien in full control. Still 100% destemmed and 100% new oak.

    My guess: Vosne Romanee Richebourg 2011 / 2013? (92-94/100)

January 28, 2021 - Slow ox for 3 hour before serving. Dark fruit, meat, minerals, spice, and graphite. Generous power and sweetness for the vintage. Cathiard’s heavy handed style certainly lifts up the leaner vintage. No greenness at all. It keeps getting better in the glass. Very good.

February 21, 2019 - Meaty wine with red and dark fruit, citrus, caramel, tea, hot Asian spice, stem, tobacco, licorice and violet. Composed, ripe and dense in style, the palate is weightless, broad and complex with plenty of backwards acid; lovely tension, the spice and sweetness are so textured together. Quite structured for an RSV without losing the elegance, and quite bullied the vintage. Luscious and enchanting. 96

November 5, 2012 - A little more closed than the Malconsorts. Quite shy and reticent today; wonderful density and richness, quite feminine yet super concentrated. Builds and builds - fantastic potential. Supreme length. 93-96
