February 1, 2022 - A bottle denser taste but less fragrance and aroma. Rather disappointed.......

September 23, 2021 - Following a lovely bottle of this less than a month ago, I reached for this to replace an absolutely rank 04 Dujac. Oh folly. From one ladybird to the next. Not as concentratedly nasty as the Dujac, but getting there. The bitter coal tar line from attack to mid palate to finish. Amazing variation from the previous bottle. Again, pretty much undrinkable. Zero stars.

August 26, 2020 - 1/6. Deep and brooding cherry red; dense. Dark red fruited nose, fragrant with a restrained floral quality. Quite rich, plush of fruit and texture with good weight through the mid palate and a nicely mineral line to the finish. Big and quite rich for a village wine, though not overdone. Just hitting its straps with plenty of vigour and vitality for the future. ****

October 26, 2019 - On a very high level for a villages. I love those menthol notes that are so typical. Need drinking up in the next one to two years, but extremely enjoyable right now. A smooth operater!

    August 25, 2016 - An incredible effort from Sylvie Esmonin making a mini-hedonistic wine from a village-wine from 2011.

Surprisingly close quality to her Clos St Jacques but this Vieilles Vignes is half the price

Dark and rich with buttery nose. High tone rose pedals and hints of violets. Dark plums, cassis, cigar box and distinctive buttery sweetcorn from Sylvie Esmonin. Dense and refined, very attractive.

Young and developing but drinking very well now. £35-40 for this Sylvie Esmonin wine, it's brilliant!!

    90/100
