April 6, 2024 - Maybe I should have opened it one hour before dinking it because the last sips were a lot better than the firsts. Blackberry, black olive, cocoa and licorice. A lot of wet stones minerality. Long finish. 91-92 at bottle opening, 92-94 after one hour. Wife 93-94.

December 27, 2022 - Terrific tasting of three CDP: Château Lazaret cuvée exceptionnelle 2010, Vieux Donjon 2010 and Domaine de la Charbonnière 2009. A tie for first place but with two different styles. Vieux Donjon (94-95) having black fruits followed by anis, black olive and «herbes de provence » flavors. The Lazaret(94-95) was bursting with blackberry and raspberry nose and mouth. The Charbonnière(92) was more austere with a combination of black fruits, anis and olive. The Vieux Donjon was the most complex by far but the Lazaret was so fruity it was difficult to tell wich one I preferred.

March 15, 2022 - Rich and fruity. very silky and together. Doesn’t change much after time in the decanter. Worth drinking now but likely equally good in 5 years.

January 24, 2021 - Really delicious wine. Not the most powerfull wine but it has a lot of fruits, mostly blue and blackberry, mixed with anis and black licorice flavors with a touch of black olive tapenade. Long fesh finish. At its peak for a few (or many ?) years.

July 23, 2020 - Dark red. Nose is dark plum, pencil lead, lively, plummy, rich and racey. Deep fruit with a licorice and slightly bitter finish. Silky tannin. Excellent.
