Community Tasting Notes 5

July 24, 2015 - My observations are consistent with those made here earlier in May. Served a bit cooler this time, as a cocktail wine with a variety of pre-dinner hor d'oeurves- hard and soft cheeses, hummus, edamame, fresh veggies, and crackers. The quality of this wine is best appreciated with food.

May 16, 2015 - Lemon grass on the nose, lemon, honeysuckle and mineral notes, with citrus-like finish. Good acidity, matched well with spicy basil and coconut curry shrimp Thai dishes. Served at about 60F, will try a cooler temp on the next bottle.

April 23, 2015 - Not my style - has a sparkling component to it. Almost fizzy.

April 21, 2014 - Really?! Not one note for this fantastic sauv blanc? Beautiful honeysuckle and bluebonnet florals with a light toasted almond with twist of citrus at the end. When popped the cork there was some fizz, fizz just made it more lively until the wine would oxidize a little and the acids sing. The fruit wasn't that abundant at first but eventually a wonderful lemon presence embodying the essence of summer appeared. This was a great pairing with spicy Asian chicken.
