    November 30, 2019 - Bouquet is subtle, still somewhat subdued, dark fruit preserve, mint, liquor. First night after one hour decant, the wine was starting relatively closed, opening up with some more air. Compared to a year ago, where the wine felt young, it now feels like the wine is slightly closing down, having entered a transformative phase, a good sign. Second night it was on, smooth and silky, with a complex mix of stewed darker fruits, some freshness, Italian and baking spices, as well as roasted elements. The finish is relatively long, tingling with more spicy and minty components. This is already a great wine on an upward curve. Tignanello was my first premium wine, and I kept buying as well as letting it age more. Whilst at some point I started to fear it may be a label wine not fully living up to its reputation, I now begin to see it as a wine with complexity in strong vintages, especially with some age, losing the gloss and immediate appeal, for something more nuanced, intellectual but still hedonistic. Best to drink your bottles spread over the next 10-15 years.

    November 27, 2019 - Purposely layed this down for a while as many CT notes said TIG needed to sleep for a while. I decanted this for 90 min. This was nowhere near the level it was when I last drank this in 2015. While still a fine wine I felt it was lacking the verve and energy it had 4 years ago. This was also a little too earthy for me. I normally enjoy my wine more without food but this was significantly better with the angel hair in a red meat sauce that I had it with.

    November 23, 2019 - This wine in great spot with 1HR decant. Elegant Italian berry fruit with enjoyable herbaceous notes, leather, wood, spices and deep sweet bouquet of fresh garden. Style is typical, but showier in what was clearly a great year - both in the vineyard and in terms of winemaking skills.

    November 17, 2019 - Weniger weit als der 09er. Profitiert von viel Luft. Ich liebe diesen Wein, für mich immer konstant auf 94 plus Niveau. Samtig, ausgewogen, rund.

    October 15, 2019 - Already lots of tertiary notes, mushrooms, wet forest floor, leather. Ripe plum and dark berries. Nicely integrated tannins. Medium bodied and a good long finish.
