Community Tasting Notes 1

March 18, 2013 - Clear, deep garnet colour with presence of many inky legs. Clean medium intensity developing nose with complex aromas of ripe plums, dark cherries, meat, vanilla, cinnamon, clove and liquorice. Dry in the mouth, medium refreshing acidity balancing the medium+ ripe tannins, fleshy, medium+ alcohol, medium+ body and medium+ intensity flavours of ripe plums, dark cherries, clove, cinnamon, vanilla and liquorice. Medium+ somewhat bitter finish. Very good quality wine, powerful but balanced, showing complexity and a good structure. Can drink now, but has potential for further ageing, it should age well for at least 5-7 years more.
