Community Tasting Notes 2

  • William Kelley Likes this wine: 91 points

August 1, 2017 - Perhaps it's the sunny climat and its soils, or the deacidifying effect of whole cluster fermentations, but the 1993 Bize Serpentières has a rather generous, sun-kissed personality for this generally rather austere vintage. A bouquet of macerated strawberries, dried herbs, spice and a hint of smoke introduces a supple, medium-full wine, amply endowed with sweet fruit and still plenty youthful and vibrant.

March 2, 2013 - Delightful pale red colour, elegant, precise, sweet red berry fruit, fairly clean with just a hint of spice and wet undergrowth. Went beautifully with roast chicken. Fully mature but no rush either.
