April 15, 2019 - Renegade Wine Dinner - Thierry Allemand (Marc Forgione - Tribeca, NYC): Tasted side by side with the '12 & '13 Chaillot, this was my favorite of the flight. Had a lighter pretty nose of berries and was the tannins were less assertive. Not as dense and concentrated on the palate, but the fruit, pepper and black olive notes were delivered with a silky, more elegant texture. I also think this will benefit from additional cellaring but more ready than the 12 and 13.

December 25, 2018 - Xmas Day late night at ES BK. Poured through Vinturi into decanter, aired for about an hour and drank over the next 45+mins.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of initial horse barnyard that blew off to reveal smoky earth, bacon meat, ripe brown stems, chilli peppers, black pepper spice, dark purple flowers. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), stolid high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of wild gamey animal, smoked bacon meat, ripe brown stems, chilli peppers, black pepper spice, iron, black cherries, wild blackberries. Long finish.
Very very good quality. Packed with loads of complexity. Many more years of evolution ahead.
Younger vines 5-40 years old from Chaillot.

September 30, 2018 - Crushed black fruit, spice like white pepper, meaty, humus
    Floral like violet and lavender
Characteristic green scent(11 vintage, using stem)
Good minerl and mid-palate, bitter tannin
It was good overall. but still young wine.
    and I hate green taint

September 8, 2018 - Old World vs. New World Syrahs @ Blackberry Farm (Blackberry Farm, TN): Stellar, but still a baby. Needs to sit in the bottle for a couple more years.

August 23, 2018 - On Thursday, we drank a few wines from the North Rhone blindly. Well made wines, but with very different styles. The WOTN was the E. Guigal Cotie Rotie La Mouline 2002. Classic and consistent. Amazing. The second wine was the Thierry Alemand Cornas Chaillot 2011. Great wine. For some it was the WOTN. The third wine was the Clusel Roch Cote Rotie 2006. Modern style. Good. The 4th wine was a huge disappointment. Bernard Levet's Cotie Rotie La Chavaroche 2012 looked like a Chilean wine with excess of guava.
