April 27, 2024 - Nose - quite earthy, hay, carrot top, slightly feral but I think with additional time in the decanter this could evolve even further.
Mouth - dark raspberry, quite powerful still with loads of fruit, tannins, and acidity. The dark berry fruit is intense but oh so fresh. This wine is still a youngster. Not getting gamey or olive notes; i would be most interested to now try the ‘11 Reynard.1 person found this helpful Comment -

March 15, 2024 - Too too expensive (now) to warrant a purchase but bought through the Wine Society a few years ago- just trying to justify opening the bottle. This is extraordinary. Warmish and slightly exotic Burgundian nose with a kick of beautiful Syrah on the finish. What a wine

October 6, 2023 - Didn't get any funk or barnyard as I have in a few previous bottles. Instead, this was clean aromatically with tar and purple flower. There is some moderate density here but I'd still call the wine medium weighted. Black pepper, blueberry, with herb and tar in the core of the wine. I didn't revisit this a second time so only the one pour notes here to offer. I appreciate Andrew digging this out of his cellar for us, as it went really well with my red sauce dish.

May 6, 2023 - Juicy red fruits, fresh cracked black pepper, charcuteries, a bit of green herbaceousness, and an enchanting floral note. The palate has good concentration with nicely balanced fruit and acidity and very fine tannins. The finish is long and balanced. Not, perhaps, the very best vintage of Allemand, but still a fabulous wine and it is always fasciniating to me to see what a true master can do in an imperfect vintage.

May 4, 2023 - Allemand Chaillot survey (Chicago, IL): In my mind, this is the weakest wine that Allemand made in the 2010s (yeesh, I write this every time I have it like a broken record). There's a green stemminess to it (somewhat reminiscent of 2004 red Burgundy, but nowhere as offensive), and the palate has always come off very light and lacking in weight to me. This bottle wasn't too different from those experiences. The fruit is light and wispy, very much more red than black, and there's a thinness that the other wines didn't have. The acidity shows quite a bit here too.
