Community Tasting Notes 5

  • El_Dougo Likes this wine:

October 21, 2022 - Good aged Cote Rotie from an off vintage year.
Nose of cherry, blossom, smoke, pepper massive tertiary: meat, savory, wet leaves
    Palate currant, black cherry,
High acidity, Medium tannins, medium body. Length medium.
Drinking quite nicely with more years ahead.

September 4, 2021 - Rich, complex, long and interesting.

I would recommend anybody try this wine because it offers so much and feels so evolved. At times there is light spice and pepper then later plummy fruits roar back. Each mouthful feels like an adventure and each mouthful is long and fulfilling.

Lots going on here; I would best describe this as a ‘thought provoking wine’.

    Recommended.

June 15, 2018 - Quite tasty, just old enough to be interesting. Needed decanting to take the edge off the tannins. Hint of bacon, savoury edge, and rich sipping. Started turning slightly sour perhaps after a couple of hours, but very drinkable throughout.

July 27, 2015 - fragrant nose of violets, sandalwood, and cranberries. Medium full body. Dark purple. Concentrated, but not overt, fruit. 12.5% alcohol. Flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and plum. Earthy. Drinking well now, but has some very good aging potential. Well structured tannins and good acidity. Lovely wine.
