September 1, 2019 - (Tasted double blind) this is clearly a mature, classically styled, high quality Bordeaux. The nose erupts with leather, dark cherry, plum, cigar box, sweet cedar, celery seed, charcoal, and dry hay. The palate is fully integrated with low tannin and sweet bright acidity. Lovely long finish replaying much of the nose. Loved this. Guessed ‘96 Margaux. Great wine, drinking nicely.

July 15, 2019 - Smooth sailing here; tannins fully resolved, very classic, vertical Bordeaux-wine, very left bank, notes of tobacco, cedar wood, solid fruit behind. Mature, but in no way fading.

May 20, 2019 - Mini Lafite - pencil shavings, deep, a bit young still

April 26, 2019 - Still tannic and still decent backbone of fruit. A bit green. Bell peppers. Cos is always good

Rockss and Fruit

(Cos d'Estournel) Tight....tight . . . . tight. Great nose of chestnuts, mint, blackberries, black cherries, cassis, cedar and minerals. Just a deep, foresty St. Estephe nose. Concentrated and super-ripe with sweet fruit, pretty firm tannins, and a long very nicely delineated finish. Excellent quality but still an infant. Would nice to check in again in 7 years.
