September 14, 2017 - Cos dinner vertical at Mulino in Raleigh. Tasted were the '88 (WOTN), '95, '98, '00, '01, '04 and '05. This '95 was singing yet still has a long life ahead. Classic old school Cos with bramble, forest floor and cedar notes. So smooth and elegant yet with traditional Cos rusticity.

September 3, 2017 - Coming together beautifully now but still has a way to go. Maybe another 10 years for the rest of the case.

August 12, 2017 - Took a bit to open up. Not decanted.
Really in its stride. Lacking a lot of depth much very pleasant

August 2, 2017 - Well worth the wait. Drinking great. Decant for all the subtleties in the back seat. Long in the finish. Love this wine!

July 31, 2017 - Lots of dark fruit, tobacco, spice box, graphite on the nose. Fresh and vibrant in the palate, still rather grippy tannins, very elegant and restrained. Good length. A little austere maybe, lots of acidity, could be a bit more generous. Drinking well, but no rush.

Rockss and Fruit

(Cos d'Estournel) Tight....tight . . . . tight. Great nose of chestnuts, mint, blackberries, black cherries, cassis, cedar and minerals. Just a deep, foresty St. Estephe nose. Concentrated and super-ripe with sweet fruit, pretty firm tannins, and a long very nicely delineated finish. Excellent quality but still an infant. Would nice to check in again in 7 years.
