Community Tasting Notes 4

February 22, 2015 - Very soft, rounded tannins, nicely matured fruit

September 28, 2014 - Nose focuses on sweet leather, dust, herbal tea notes, and some dark fruit.
Palate shows red fruit on the front of the palate, fading to currant with some slight chocolate and an element of dirt. Medium finish. Tannins feel strong but refined/mature/rounded. Drinking great with nowhere else to go but thinner.

July 9, 2013 - Deep red-black color. A strong currant taste as well as other dark fruits. A bit heavy on the alcohol with a slight burning in the mouth feel. A decent wine.

  • cmaldoon Likes this wine: 90 points

April 24, 2013 - Color: red purple tending to purple, deeply hued, no visible sediment

Nose: medium to light. Mint, marzipan, sweet Rainier Cherry, Oak/vanilla (both)

Palet: good concentration. Dark red to black fruits, significant chocolate oak, balancing acidity in a modern style. Light chalky tannins and a decent length finish.

Overall: good New World cab, drink within five years if you want any tannin. This may lose punch after that.
