June 4, 2011 - Had with light meat, cheese and olive/bread appetizers. Not great but decent with acid/alcohol forward taste, light structure, nominal spice, pepper and fruit. OK buy for the $$$.

February 3, 2011 - Very nice! Dark red-purple color. Light nose yields ripe red berry aromas. Light bodied palate with lots of fresh red fruit – strawberries and raspberries – plus just a touch of earthy spice. Medium length finish. Stellar QPR at the $8 Garagiste price tag. Drink now.

September 19, 2010 - noticeable strawberry on the nose; this is actually a med bodied wine, not great, but certainly worth the price and as noted could pass for a full bodied Pinot. Also, noted the freshness of the spearmint; plenty of acidity. Think shrimp with red sauce, Salmon with berry sauce; etc. I buy all my wine at ibuywineonline.com - excellent deals and variety

March 8, 2007 - Decanted this in glass for 1 hour. Same nose as last note however this time around this seems a bit thinner than I remember. I also pick up on the "tangy spearmint" that ST notes. Maybe forget the decant on the last bottle and try a pop and pour.

January 23, 2007 - Decanted this for 1.5hrs. Nice dark sapphire red color, big bright nose of strawberry, smoke and meat, lots of fresh red fruit on the palate, currant, raspberry and strawberry, medium body with silky tannins and lively acidity, the finish goes on and on, this wine has bit of a PN character to it, very, very nice 90.

(GRENACHE Reynella Basket Pressed) Bargains Dear Friends, We just had three amazing bargains arrive and there's something for everyone. All are limited so please let us know your interest at your earliest convenience. You can throw darts below to find prices 30-60% off. All have been perfectly stored with impeccable provenance. - NO EXCEPTIONS: 2002 Chateau Reynella Grenache "Basket Pressed" (McLaren Vale) $8.99? That's $5-7 less than wholesale? From the aromatic, cool-climate 2002 vintage in South Australia, this Grenache will not win any trophies but it is in a great place right now as a party wine. Red-fruit forward with a silky palate presence that should be a crowd-pleasing favorite - $20-30 wine for $8.99? Sounds good to me: 2005 Kumeu River Chardonnay "Estate" (New Zealand) (this is not the $8 "Kumeu" or $20 "Villages" - this is the $30-40 "Estate" - see K & L listing as an example) This is one of the more bizarre deals I've seen in a while. Not only is the wine is in a lovely place right now, it's a bargain for a wine that is normally $30-40 - even from discount sources. For those of you not familiar with Kumeu River, they are a New Zealand Chardonnay specialist that adheres to a strict Burgundian methodology. They possess some of New Zealand's finest terroir for the grape and their winemaking is fastidious. Almost all of their examples age in an uncanny fashion and the risk is more than worth the $13+. 89pts? Who cares. Neil Martin: "...If you have never tried these wines, then it is time you see for yourself what New Zealand is capable of. All his Chardonnays can be drunk immediately but do resist temptation and save some bottles to drink over 5-6 years (or more) as they can age beautifully..." 2005 Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon "Limited Reserve" (Napa Valley) 750ml Last but not least, for some reason we've had a lot of requests for this wine lately - I believe the 2005 Silverado Reserve won a big California Cabernet tasting on a blog site somewhere? We never carry Silverado but I've been able to find a parcel at an eye-popping price for a new release. The only caveat? It's a maximum of 2 bottles/person until we run out: Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Aus7328 Aus7329 CA8923
