December 24, 2023 - Xmas eve wine. Quite meaty and smokey. Initially, Sonja didn't like this. A little air and time to open softened it a bit. One of few actual Patty Green-produced bottles we still have.

March 7, 2023 - Interesting to note that Jim Anderson, head winemaker and owner of PGC publishes a drinkability chart on the winery website with periodic updates. He has just moved most of the 2012 vineyard designates from “hold” to “ hold or drink”. Hence, these should be in a sweet spot for the next few years according to the winery. Not sure how the drinking windows get set on this site but I am finding many of these wines drinking beautifully while retaining plenty of youthful fruit.

September 5, 2022 - This is lovely and absolutely singing right now. Not in any danger of falling off anytime soon.

PnP. Immediately pleasing, and developed further character with air. Youthful looking medium to dark ruby. The nose is charming with damp underbrush, some florals, an undercurrent of still ripe fruit. With more air, getting mushroom. Palate is just shy of medium in body, very nice juicy and refreshing character to the fruit; more floral notes and potpourri. Hard to pin down what type of fruit I'm picking up on this; crunchy and precise, though. Very smooth mouthfeel; whatever overt structure this might have had as a youth is very nicely integrated right now.

April 11, 2022 - Such a complete and balanced wine, especially 10 years later. Baby fat is gone, but could still provide enjoyment for years to come. Love it.

January 29, 2022 - Deep red. Nose was expressive but the palate was a bit muted for the first 30 minutes. Really hit its stride around 60 minutes. Dark, ripe cherry and boysenberry with medium plus acid and integrated tannins adding some spice. Very enjoyable. Plenty of life left for these.
