  April 28, 2014 - The last two times I consumed this wine, it was in mixed company with multiple bottles opened. This time, my wife and I had this bottle at home and found the aromas to be very pleasant but we really noticed it had medicinal characteristics. Perhaps this was due to the 15.5% alcohol. We didn't enjoy it as much this time and I found it difficult to finish the bottle over the course of three days. I will decant this and leave it open to air for 4-8 hours before drinking next time.

  July 10, 2013 - Notes on day 2. I could smell this wine for an hour. Aromas of cassis, black raspberry, and a hint of leather. The palate almost lives up to the nose with similar lively fruit notes and underlying earthiness, but the finish is slightly medicinal to me. Still, it's a nice effort and eminently quaffable.
