November 22, 2019 - Clear medium garnet - almost pale; clean medium plus nose of dark chocolate, dried plums, dried figs, raisins, leather, mushrooms and toast - pretty and port-like; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium body: pronounced flavour intensity; pfn with addition of bandaid; long finish; outstanding quality; beautiful wine but drink now - a certain sharpness is developing as the fruit falls away - may be out of balance in another year or two

July 29, 2017 - Garnet with faded garnet rim; wicked viscosity; nose of clay, raisins, eucalyptus, green pepper, cherries and strawberries; palate follow nose with addition of savory balsamic notes; well balanced; lovely finish with hints of tar; luxurious mouthfeel; splurge, but well worth trying - we weren't disappointed

May 13, 2015 - The grapes were pressed after 102 days of drying. This wine has dark garnet to brick red colour. On the nose are layers of dried red cherry, dried black mission figs, leather, tobacco, toasted oak, cola, truffle, and dark cocoa notes. The palate is smooth, intense, and balanced with elegant flavours of dried red cherry and subtle oak notes mingling with smooth, delicate tannins. These flavours are well balanced with the acidity and tannins which lead to an extremely long, warm, lingering finish. Wine and food pairing suggestions include osso bucco, veal parmigiana, grilled portabella mushroom, traditional Italian meatballs in Bolognese sauce, charcuterie, mushroom risotto, grilled veal or lamb, and dark chocolate.
