December 25, 2017 - Cork very good. At first mostly glue tones, opening up after 2 hrs in decanter w dried cherries, tobacco, minerals, figs. Rounded tannins, good acidity, fruit receding but still there. Aftertaste w mostly alcohol and sweet cherries. Old school Amarone. Drink up!

    March 10, 2015 - Deep garnet color.

Fully developed nose with a medium+ aroma intensity. Dried red fruits, raisins, figs, prunes, oak, dill, leathers, barnyard and wet earth.

A hint of RS on the palate with medium+ acidity, medium tannin and full body. The flavor intensity is medium+ with raisins, figs, chocolate, dried cherries, leather and wet earth. The finish is medium+ with chocolate dipped cherries and prunes.

This is mature and a bit over the hill but a fully enjoyable of classic Amarone. Upon opening it was tight and showed almost nothing but wet cardboard and mud but it opened up after about 2 hours in the decanter. Drink your bottles now.
