April 8, 2006 - Very lush-could have gone back and forth thinking this was from Oregon for quite a while. Voluptuous forward pinot fruit with a light candied edge, but considerable smoke through the middle and finish. Plenty of zip. Not heavy. Well-made, honest wine from an good value appellation we don't see enough of here.

January 7, 2003 - 1999 Michel Gros Borgougne Hautes Cotes d' Nuits
1/7/03 at home. Decent ruby. This has been open a full day, and the nose has blossomed nicely. Cherry fruit with good terroir. Palate nice, good bite, earthy, slightly bitter on the finish. 5-11-13-6-85/100. H - 88.
