March 20, 2024 - Chateau Angelus at Ivy (Ivy Bottle Shop, Sydney): aromas of plums, sweet spice, earth, leather and slight perfumed floral top notes, slight blackcurrant, biscuit, a little plain chocolate, touch of forest floor; mushroom, slight red berry underpin. Nice nose. Juicy, textured grip is woody, drying, talc textured, touches of cream and mushroom join plums and Asian fives spice as well as a slightly green sour note. a little alcohol warmth on the finish. Okay, drink now - 5 years

June 12, 2022 - Opened this at Chin Lee to celebrate my mother's birthday.

Decanted for 2 hours before consumption. Brooding red in colour with dark red fruits on the nose and palate. Thick, heavy with rich plums, dark cherries, aged leather.

Had expected the 2nd wine from this prestigious St Emillion winery to be more approachable and ready to drink.

March 22, 2019 - Quite disappointing at this stage ... was expecting more of this second label.
Honestly, I prefer the 2012 Angelus N°3 from the above this bottle.

It showed potential upon uncorking, but once in the decanter it completely shut down.
It became very basic and generic, not what I have grown to expect from Angelus.
Could it the be vintage or is this 2012 simply too young at this stage - who knows.

    September 7, 2017 - CARRILON d'ANGELUS 2012
Åpen og tilgjengelig. Drikkeklar. Kaffe, tobakk, plommer, kirsebær. Dyp og lang. Perfekt balanse! Hvorfor smaker en andrevin så perfekt og så åpen? Fantastisk! Til prisen ikke så attraktiv. 92
