September 9, 2020 - Fine Wines SG - BYOB "The Best of Merlot" (The Communal Bistro Delicacy - CBD): Deep ruby, and viscous. Aromas of ripe cherry, and a slight vinous hit, as well as pepper, and some green bell pepper. Tannins still have some bite, as well as black cherry, purple flowers, tar, and capsicum. Quite a good length

December 31, 2018 - This is the third time I have had this wine, and I found it better than the past two times. This one was hand shipped by JR from South Africa and it was lovely. A nice solid all around wine, with great green fruit, rich green, red and black fruit, with nice earth, lovely tobacco, and rich menthol. The mouth on this medium bodied wine, shows lovely fruit, with nice mouth coating tannin, great mineral, lovely graphite, with rich saline, green notes, mushroom, and scrapping mineral, backed by lovely earth, and really nice red fruit and currant. The finish is long and green, it shows ripe yet balanced with great graphite, dirt, and tobacco galore, black olives, cloves, herb, and leather – BRAVO!!. Drink by 2021.

    July 13, 2017 - Clear, medium ruby.
Blackberry, sweet plum, sweet spice, cedar oak on the nose.
Medium(+) acidity, medium body, medium(+) flavour intensity with a little red fruit joining the mix, along with woody oak. Sharp tannins and a medium(+) finish.
This seems to be showing a little better in terms of structure than the earlier notes. Makes you wonder about how limited accuracy can sometimes be when predicting the evolutionary path of a wine.

May 16, 2015 - Herbal, earth and cherry tones, the wine is forward, medium bodied and will be best enjoyed on the young side.

May 7, 2015 - Medium bodied, slightly rustic on the palate, the wine focuses you on its crisp, sharp red berry character. Drink this young.
