January 25, 2024 - Fairly austere upon opening it, with prune aromas and flavors on the forefront, but this evolved over time to show more pleasant plum and berry elements.

September 20, 2023 - Terrific value at c. $20 a bottle.
Given that it is Merlot dominated coupled with being a 2012 vintage, it can be had right out of the bottle, but really benefits from a decant of about 4 hours.
Drinking very nicely now and will for another 5 years or so. An all-round excellent wine! -

July 17, 2023 - Delicious. Very smooth from start to finish. Feels like it’s in a very good place at the moment but will keep for at least five years.

April 26, 2023 - The wine looks deep garnet colored with lightening on the edge. Light sediment in the bottle. On the nose a complex combination of, black currant (cassis), tar, strawberry jam, and cedar. On the mouth, concentrated, silky texture on entry, medium to full body, low acidity and a ripe tannin from mid-palate onward to a medium to long length finish. Just entering maturity with a good amount of life ahead left. Not bad at all for a $19.00 wine!

March 31, 2023 - Atsushi Extravaganza! (Tokyo, Japan): Plums over fresh blackcurrant, sweet spice and, with time ,an almost liquorice note. Juicy, fleshy, dark hued fruits, breadth and a slight silky tannic burr. Long, lovely (2012 punching above its weight again) and a great match to the beef and foie gras.
