  November 11, 2023 - Having bought a case of this wine on release and consumed six bottles up to about five years ago, I had pretty much given up on it. The first few bottles were mediocre at best and by about 2018 it had become, as JHSP put it, tight and sour. I thought his 88 rating at the time was generous. My remaining bottles sat ignored and unloved in the back of the cellar until yesterday. I pulled a bottle and coravined a little, without much optimism. To my surprise it was exactly what a ripe Charmes should be and was very much enjoyed by my guests and I. Derek Darth Taster's review was spot on and accurately described this wine's current characteristics - a very nice metamorphosis. I would say this has at least two or three more years in it for those who have a cool cellar and enjoy mature white Burgundy.

  It was truly strange to see how the color was so more yellowish, and the aromas of bee wax, honey much more marked here than on the Corton, it is a nice expression of Chardonnay, but it is a bit declining I guess.
  
  Palate shows a different story still, as it is quite kicky and vibrant, good acidity and a long finish. Storage might have been the worry here ? As it shows more evolution than the ones I might have in my storage.... ???
  
  Still the Corton stood out ! and in a long way !

  May 7, 2022 - FWSG tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
  Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
  Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of green garden weeds, small white flowers, white pear, a purity feel. Developing.
  On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of pure white wet stone pebbles minerality, white pear, white peach, pure clean citrus, steeliness, slight hazelnut that reminds that there is still some rounded oak in there. With more air, rounded honeyed almond nut and rich Meursault Chamres character emerges. Some lemon curd with an oily note. Long finish.
  Very good quality. Runs the whole gamut of precision acidic cut from the approach to rounded oiliness on the finish.

  January 19, 2020 - too tight and a bit sour for me - improved over time but overall not quite where it should be for a 2011 Charmes. A bit more roundness and drinking pleasure would have been nice.

  October 7, 2017 - The other notes nail this. This is textbook Meursault in a sense: ripe, nutty, lemon cream, a whiff of oak. Tasty for sure. But this doesn't have quite the depth or drive of better examples.
