September 26, 2021 - While not quite as splendid as Chermette's 09 Fleurie Les Garants, this is very nice juice indeed. Perfectly balanced with ripe crunchy bojo fruits, laser focused minerals, and decaying flowers. Very long chalky finish with a spot of cocoa. I drank with a lovely chirashi bowl and it went surprising well with the rich tuna and soy. Nothing not to like here!

February 10, 2021 - Found this hiding out waiting to be opened, purchased five years ago at close-out for $13. Great QPR. This is subtly elegant through and through. Light background minerality and black tea, in front with whiffs of lavender, bay leaf, perfume; crunchy red fruits and even a touch of baked orange zest (whatever that is, but it comes to mind), light to medium-bodied but still somehow there is a sappy impression through it. Medium finish. 12.5% abv. Lovely wine.

February 5, 2020 - I wrote this 14 months ago and I wouldn't change a word.
"Nice smells of strawberry, rhubarb, mixed black and red raspberries dipped in cream with Tums, caraway seed, green tea, bay leaf and wet leather. In the mouth I get wild strawberry, tart raspberry and orange peal with strong iced tea, copper, baby aspirin and dry leaves. Very bright fresh acid and soft, almost creamy, tannin."
Really in a nice place now but no rush.1 person found this helpful Comment -

November 17, 2018 - Nice smells of strawberry, rhubarb, mixed black and red raspberries dipped in cream with Tums, caraway seed, green tea, bay leaf and wet leather. In the mouth I get wild strawberry, tart raspberry and orange peal with strong iced tea, copper, baby aspirin and dry leaves. Very bright fresh acid and soft, almost creamy, tannin.
From other notes and my experience with the 2012 vintage, I expected this to be starting to fall apart but not even close. I guess there could be some bottle variation but this is a vary nice wine just coming into it's drinking window with at least half a decade in front of it. I will wait a couple more years to open the next bottle.
Really nice wine from a very good producer in a challenging vintage. -

November 10, 2018 - Bottle #6 of 6 (2 of the 6 have been flawed).
This bottle seemed slightly advanced, but was certainly drinkable and showed off red fruit and spices.
Some earthy notes, with a rather clipped finish.
Not sure if these were stored improperly before I got them, but I expect more from the Vissoux house.
