May 2, 2015 - Wish I had never tasted this because it's ruined me for all other Scotch. I was quite happy with my modest collection before this.
It's as complex as any wine I've ever tasted, and leaves the room completely silent.
This is 20 times as expensive as any other whiskey I've ever owned, so I'm especially grateful to the friend who generously shared it with a scotch novice.
I'd be astonished if I ever have a better spirit of any kind in my life. -

August 11, 2013 - Alas - finished the first bottle last night. At least it was shared with folks who had a full appreciation, but it was sad to see grown men trying to hold the bottle over their empty glasses for the "last drop", literally - Must.leave.other.bottle.locked.away...
I've picked up some recent whisky selections from Garagiste this week in the hope that they will be enough to distract me from the sole remaining bottle of this elixir... -

The "gang" got together and brought all their favourites, including Glenmorangie, Lagavulin 12 yr, Glenlivet 18 yr and Bunnahabhain 25 yr. This thing blew them all away (I will say the Bunnahabhain was terrific tho - I'd definitely give it a solid second.
Unbelievably rich, exotic, dynamic, on both the nose and palate - and the finish is wonderful, amazing, and everlasting. Even tho it is bottled at cask strength (104), you cannot discern the alcohol, it is totally integrated.
I ran out to find another bottle immediately after our tasting session - I never want to run out of this!2 people found this helpful Comments (4)
