March 26, 2022 - A friend who doesn’t know much about port, and without knowing the vintage or if it was a vintage or LBV, said « wow that’s good » with star in her eyes. I think that summarize how approachable et easy drinking this port is.

A lot a dark fruit, raisin, and some lighter aromas like roses. Alcohol is well integrated and the final is long, long, long.

    Pure pleasure!

February 18, 2018 - On the light and approachable side of 2011 vintage Port. Delicious fruit, seductive crème de cassis-like notes, balanced alcohol, and well framed. It should age for another decade and last through 2032.

November 26, 2015 - Followed during a long decant and post-Thanksgiving dinner with not really any development noticed. Very fresh and grapey nose, in the manner of a top-flight Morgon with dusty rose and herbal top notes in the menthol/eucalyptus family. Incredibly lithe on the tongue with a long raisin/coffee finish. A hint of rye whisky spice and burn (but not in a bad sense). Lovely! Seems very approachable for this age and vintage, but get the sense that it's got longevity too.

March 8, 2014 - PHMG WAG: Port(ugal) Tasting (The Lyon Lodge): Here we go! Sweet black fruit with hints of tar and earth, all supported by the usual cast of characters: etoh, tannins galore, and acidity. Approachable as a baby, but a great candidate for making it to college (age) or even a pH(D).

December 15, 2013 - Spirity nose, but long and balanced palate. Deep, though maybe not monolithic.

(Smith Woodhouse Porto Vintage) Opaque black red violet color; aromatic, dried berry, baked berry, graham cracker, fig jam nose; fresh, silky textured, blackberry, kirsch, berry liqueur palate; surprisingly accessible now but would benefit from 7+ years of aging; very long finish
