Community Tasting Notes 8

December 6, 2020 - Slight petrol notes with a floral and grass in the nose. In addition to the petrol, we find gray notes, dirt and wet rock. Finishes a bit short. Drink now.

April 10, 2018 - This was the last bottle of eight. Some of the spicy notes that give Gruner Veltliner its interest have disappeared with age. It still shows grapefruit, pear, and a note of apricot, with an unctuous texture and enough acidity to keep it from being flabby. It's good, but going downhill; the Cellartracker drinking window looks too generous in this case.

August 12, 2017 - Ether on the nose. On the palate, peach, pear, and grapefruit citrus, with good acidity on the medium to long finish. Excellent, but only an average value at about $50.

July 16, 2017 - Floral, honey nose with a hint of skunky melon. Ginger, acacia and a hint of white pepper or frizzant. Melin to finish which lingers. Drink any time.

March 27, 2017 - This seemed a little more advanced than previous bottles, with less white pepper and more peach and pear. The texture is almost oily, and it's intensely flavored with a moderately long finish.
