Community Tasting Notes 4

February 12, 2023 - 13 years old now. Heavy, almost black sediment. Deep, brown apple dominates the palate. Sweetness is restrained. Remarkable.

December 19, 2015 - Blind tasting vs Rochefort 10 2009 and a fresh St Bernardus abt12. The placements were unanimous and the W12 earned 2nd place-- bowing to the '09 R10. The W had the most body of any entry with pronounced flavors of raisin brandy and malt; but lacked effervescence vs the R10. The W easily defeated the fresh STB12.

December 25, 2014 - This was the first loss in an annual blind-tasting vs Rochefort 10 '09. It developed a metallic note in this past year and thinned a bit on the finish.

November 28, 2013 - Won a blind tasting vs Rochefort 10 '09, Rochefort 10 '13, St Bernardus Christmas '13. Tasting notes: lead, spice on the palate, syrup finish of sweet, toasted nuts.
