May 10, 2019 - My last of these. Drinking well, full maturity. Still quite sweet, enjoyed with both soft shell crab and with dessert wines. Well-balanced but onl moderately complex/

August 2, 2015 - Lovely mature Auslese. Burnished brass. Still moderately sweet. Creamy, yellow fruits. Still not great complexity but a very good wine. Probably at peak but will stay there longer.

June 8, 2014 - Light gold. Lovely aromas of peach and white flowers and lots of petrol. Starting to get some appealing secondary burnt caramel notes. Certainly pleasantly drier over time but the acidity is going strong. My 90 year old father, a German Riesling aficianado, gave this two thumbs up.

December 1, 2013 - Quite delicious. See my September 2012 note.

September 7, 2012 - Showing much better than 3.5 years ago. Much better integrated. Moderately sweet but to my taste was a successful if not sublime match with steamed lobster w drawn butter. No botrytis, Creamy, pretty yellow fruits no longer primary, good acidity, intense, long finish. Still not lots of complexity.

Rockss and Fruit

(August Kesseler Rudesheimer Berg Schlossberg Spatlese GK) This wine was absolutely scintillating. Brilliant acidity and ripe apricot fruit. Very pure and sleek but with great, alive and very present acidity. You just do not taste Spatlese GK this crisp anymore and so well defined within its genre of Spatlese GK. Not exaggerated and just perfect.
