October 23, 2023 - Great wine and showing quite well.
Very expressive nose, lots of dried red fruit, and some underbrush.
Tannins starting to resolve, although still grippy. Vibrant acidity, and overall good balance. This may show even better once the tannins fully resolve. Drink or hold 2030+. -

July 4, 2017 - Aromatic, dried berry, leather, tar, and black tea nose. Med-full bodied with good flavour replays. Tannins are rounding but still holding a good grip through the finish. Lingering dried flower, pot-pourri notes.

August 30, 2016 - Fattoria dei Barbi mini vertical, at winery (Brunello '10, Riserva '07, Vigna del Fiore '07). Notably denser and more expressive than the Brunello. Concentrated dark cherry, dried flower bowl, leather and woody spices. Forceful aromas yet still feels tight and youthful. Should unfurl into something more exotic over another 5 years. Tannins are also pronounced and need more time to fully integrate. Persistent finish; very good.

August 10, 2016 - Consistent with other tasting notes I have on this one. Very good and complex. Hints of wood on the nose and palate. Not oak wood but like a cedar smell.
