    December 10, 2015 - Bright and lively
Red fruit was present but more earthy aromas predominate
    Well balanced and harmonious.
    Drink up!!

September 27, 2014 - Not bad but not at the level of other Brunello's

September 12, 2014 - Pretty good. Ordered by the glass at La Barca with a Bistecca Fiorentina - this was nice enough for us to order a second helping. It had a pretty, very summery nose, with a nice melange of red and black fruit - ripe black cherries, cassis and summer berries - all sweet and sunny aromas, and then some stony earth, spicy, anise notes and a touch of wild herbs. Unusually expressive and very pretty. The palate showed more like a classic young Brunello though, showing subtler echoes of the black and red fruit picked up on the nose lined with earthy minerality - all a bit more reserved, and clearly lined with fine tannins and fresh acidity that gave the wine a still rather firm backbone. There was nice infusion of spice on the midpalate, just before the wine tailed off a little into a midlengthed the finish with a blush of warm licorice and anise spice amidst some bittersweet herbal notes. The weaker end aside though, this was actually quite a nice wine at its price. Its structure and balance also made it an enjoyable pairing with the beef

March 27, 2014 - A traditional bottle that ultimately did not impress. Took some time for this wine to open -- an hour for the sangio nose to bloom. The wine has a soft texture and a rhubarb compote, sweet cola like profile, tipping its hat to an old botti style wine making. It lacked vibrancy and tension at this stage of development, though it may be also a comment on the '08 harvest. Next to the lively and perfumed Donna Olga '07, these wines are a nice illustrations of individual styles of Brunello making.
