December 2, 2019 - 1989, Château Cos d’Estournel, Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux, Frankreich. Mittlers Rubin. 18.5 vvPunkte (93/100). vvWine.ch

    October 26, 2019 - Renotcka visiting

    Brick rim, full bodied.
Earthy, cigar box, pencil led. Loamy, dark fruit.
So smooth, silky tannin. Medium finish. Exquisite structure.
Opened and decanted, and drank over six hours. This wine is flawless. I think this still has 3-5 years of good life in it.

October 19, 2019 - Guys Night Out with Wagyu Tenderloin and Crepe Cake: About 1 1/2 hour decant. This wine definitely has secondary characteristics. The nose has funk, tar, earth and graphite. The palate is slightly hollow, and there is still some tannins present. Frankly, it drank younger than I was expecting. Hold last bottle for 3+ years and still decant 1 hour(?). I find it interesting that the cellartracker window shows this at expired. That is obviously not the case.

October 17, 2019 - Guys Night Out: Bring Something You're Looking Forward To Drinking (Jason P's, St. Paul, MN): Very dark red purple color, 2mm clear edge. Decanted for 90 minutes, drank a glass over 2 hours. The nose has a lot pencil lead up frint, earthy, cassis and a savory perfume of dark fruits eventually emerges. The palate is dark and dense, cassis, oak, tart dark berries, pencil, oak and earth. The tannins still have some hold here and the oak is not fully integrated. Drinks relatively young, but still impressive. This is still improving, but I wouldn't be afraid to drink it now with a couple good hours of air. 93+(+)pts.
