October 20, 2023 - Pop and pour. Unarguably the best 21 dollar btl of wine I have ever bought. On the nose: black tea, cranberry, leather and spice. On the palate:.black tea, leather, soft strawberry, solid acidity, good density, slate and grapefruit on the softly tannic finish. This is in a fantastic place right now. Glad I still have a few more btls.

November 29, 2022 - Pop and pour yesterday. First btl in a little over 4 years. This has improved significantly! Loads of savory secondary notes. On the nose: dried blackberry, currant, savory herbs, soft leather and spice. On the palate: lovely acidity, a touch thin, but lovely herbs, mulberry leaf, and fruit. Completely attenuated tannin on the finish, which is still juicy. Denser yesterday than today, so this seems mature now.

December 3, 2020 - Garnet color with transparency and fairly large clear meniscus. Smells like fall with earth and dry leaves, holiday spices, black tea, orange peel, red fruits, and a nice floral element. A joy to sit here and sniff tbh. Very light and elegant on the palate with light to medium body, medium acid and finish, lovely texture, and flavors of cranberry, cherry, black tea, lemon, orange peel, and a bit of mineral and spice. No prior experience with this wine or producer, but this was great, and drinking well right now. Little more presence and length would garner a higher score from me, but solid 91 on the merits.

September 5, 2018 - Pop and pour. Nice nose with loads of earth, plum, and a touch of black tea. On the palate, excellent acidity and a touch of spicy black fruit. Medium bodied, and still some grip on the finish, which is longer than you'd expect. As before, these btls continue to improve!

March 14, 2017 - These just keep improving. My notes this time are from 4 days open, mostly in the refrigerator in between. After this got back to drinking temperature it was in an excellent place. Pure clean pinot fruit on the nose, denser than the last showing, but still loads of great acidity.
