February 2, 2019 - PnP, chilled. Immediate heavy aromas of honey and butterscotch, with a dark golden color in the glass = OXIDIZED, and undrinkable.
This is the first Scherrer Chardonnay that we have had that was completely oxidized. May have to shorten the drink window to 3 to 6 years after vintage.

July 26, 2016 - From 75cl, exquisite, beautiful cork. Opened 1 hour. Ripe lime, star-fruit and a touch of mint(?) on the nose. Big, satisfying, well-managed oak. Massivem ript-fruit concentration and edgy, bright acidity in perfect balance. Long, tingling finish. Lovely wine, worth the premium price. Great right now, why wait? 92P

October 4, 2015 - Popped and poured. Medium golden colour. On the nose; rich tropical fruit, butterscotch, white flowers and smoky minerality. On the palate; viscous texture, high concentration and firm acidity. Clearly New World, and perhaps not to everybody’s taste. Personally, I find this style very enjoyable as long as there’s sufficient freshness – which is definitely the case here. Might have scored it a point higher hadn’t it been for a little heat on the finish, but this is just details really. Should provide pleasure for at least another five years.

September 25, 2015 - From 75cl, perfect cork. Has filled out a little in the last 6 months. Now broad-shouldered, this oaky, buttery, but pure and beautifully balanced (particularly on the long, rolling mineral-acidic-resonantly tingling finish) wine is all you hope for (but so often don't get) in a Northern Californian Chardonnay. Drink now-2017. 92P
