Community Tasting Notes 5

May 31, 2014 - Medium intense ruby color. Medium-bodied, with nice intensity. Smooth medium tannins, good acidity with basic flavours of Sangiovese; sour cherries, violet and earth. An easy going everyday wine that would work perfectly with pizza.

April 18, 2014 - Two bottles, both vile, shrill, and with muted fruit. Might be the bottles or just a bad wine.

April 9, 2014 - The first bottle was corked but a second was fine. Lovely fruit nice balance, very intense. Bit high in alcohol but the fruit and intensity, the balance and the finish are quite nice and sell the wine.

    November 9, 2013 - Super Tasting 6 of 6 - Greg's Brunello Dinner (Greg's House - Kitchener, ON): Tasted Blind
This looks quite extracted and modern….quite dark.
The nose is reduced….showing rubber, tar and obvious oak. The palate is simple with plum, leather, blueberry and other dark fruits. The finish is medium but again shows extracted flavours

November 6, 2013 - VIAS Imports Italian Estates (Esquin (Seattle, WA)): Fresh earth, dark raspberries and a hint of spice. Bright fruit, mostly red raspberries and cherries on the body. Finishes with fine tannins, though a bit heavy in acid and alcohol.
