April 18, 2023 - Dinner at La Boheme with the Crew (Palo Alto): Powerful, unique combination of Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon. Super clean bottle, long and e sharing. Excellent. Showing the complexity of age but not at all ‘aged’ notes.

April 18, 2023 - Dinner with the wine group (La Bohème, Palo Alto): Medium ruby, age-appropriate bricking; aromatic, aged Bordeaux character, red bell pepper, earthy, slight spice; palate is medium bodied, medium alcohol, medium-plus acidity, excellent mature red fruit, complex, great balance; finish is medium-plus length. Very nice, seems Cabernet dominant and competitive with a great Bordeaux at this age. 92
1-2 hours air: fabulous, continuing to improve with lovely red fruit and vibrancy, excellent complexity. 93

March 13, 2021 - Best bottle of the case so far. Just everything you want in an old Trevallon. Superb.

December 22, 2020 - First sip suggests that this is very comfortable as a ‘rhone vintage’ Trev — garrigue and olive on the nose. More Bordeaux-like on the palate, this is lovely, but starting to dry cf a bottle eight years ago, so I think time to drink up. ****

December 9, 2020 - So much better than the previous bottle. What’s amazing is that you can really taste both the cab sauv and Syrah. Smoky and earthy with at the same time a slightly leafy, green note. Super balance and elegance on the palate. Ready to go.

July 26, 2020 - Corked soaked almost all the way up. After showing some nice fruit (cassis) nose showed some vegetal and green pepper notes, almost cab franc-esque.
A little musty/mushroom, almost with some TCA.I think that bottle was off and I want to try again to compare.

June 14, 2019 - Nice herbal notes on the nose. Palate and finish balanced and pleasant but was clearly outshone by the 1990. Decanted ~45 mins before drinking. Still nice to drink but clearly fading.

October 11, 2018 - Very similar to my 1/30/2016 notes. Pretty mix of aged Cab sophistication and some terroir-driven syrah (or simply Brett - IDK..). Delivers a sense of place. Nice length. Drinks well now and should hold (but not improve) for several more years.

July 15, 2017 - Still hanging around, but this seems past its prime compared to other vintages. Fairly light nose, but still interesting aromas. In the mouth, this was soft and round, and tasted similar to other Trevallons. Just not as much fruit or depth of flavor as I had hoped.
