Community Tasting Notes 7

February 26, 2021 - Ruby with Russet hues in the meniscus, colour showing its age. Initial hit of star anise, cloves and pepper on the nose. On the attack its star anese white pepper subsiding to subtle plum and blackberry.a long smokey, leather and peppery finish.
I felt this one had closed up on me a bit, not much in the way of fruit and mostly tertiary notes pushing to the forefront, Even after a couple of hours breathing time. Still a nice wine all the same.

December 26, 2020 - Nicely balanced right bank claret. Drinking now, not tasting the alcohol (14.5%). Safe and solid for the money.

June 1, 2019 - This wine feels like it starting to come around nicely. Classic right bank Bordeaux nose with black plum, cassis, moist soil, cedar wood, tobacco, worn leather and some grassy herbs. The oak is present but not in your face.
Bordering on full bodied with structure to remain balanced. The flavors mirrors the nose with ripe black fruit, tobacco, brown spice and toasted oak. Long finish. Definitely in the zone with one foot in fresh fruit and the other in more tertiary notes. The oak is starting to integrate and overall the wine feels like it's ready to drink. Could probably go for another 5 years if preferred.

December 21, 2016 - Nothing wrong with this one, but nothing to remember either. Typically smooth and fruity, but lacking intensity - i dont see much potential here. Medium finish.
