Community Tasting Notes 3

September 8, 2012 - Layered, complex nose showing gamey and earthy notes along with blueberry and rhubarb. Palate had noticeably high acidity and mellowed tannin. Very little sediment thrown. During the course of sharing a bottle between two, the wine was at times highly enjoyable and at others a bit too much rhubarb and acid. Nevertheless a classy wine with great nose, good length and a lot of interest. (91 Very good wine)

April 29, 2008 - Drank with Runny at Zambuca at the Pan Pacific Marina Hotel in Singapore. The restaurant has an incredible list of older Australian fine wines that extends to over 10 pages. Unfortunately we were pressed for time before the restaurant closed and didn't do the selection justice. Deep translucent ruby colour. Lovely nose; light uplifted notes of clove, red liquorice and neutral shoe polish. Acidic and thin on the palate although still some fruit. Not much length. Past its prime.

December 21, 2005 - Bannockburn Vertical Tasting - Chardonnay, Pinot & Shiraz (Royal Automobile Club, Sydney): Vegetal, under-ripe, weedy, off-putting nose. The fully mature soft palate is better than the nose but it can’t make up the lost ground.
